Road Trip From the UK to Estonia and Back.

I recently had some business to do in Estonia. Flying there wasn’t really an option as I had some bulky stuff to transport. Additionally, I wanted to buy something there that is commonplace there but overpriced in the UK: A sauna.

So, I decided to drive there from Manchester to Tallinn.

I have done this drive many times since 1998, and much has changed in this time. On this journey, I decided to take my eight year old lad with me and plan to grab a few pics along the way.… Click here to continue reading this article

How safe are you from cyber stalkers? Do you Google dates?

Do you Google for your own name? Do you check out potential dates? If you don’t, maybe you should! Other people will be Googling you.

I recently showed a friend how just by using his screen name anyone could get his full name, birthdate, address, phone, names of family members (including his children), place of business, job title…in addition to a lot of compromising information about cheating on his wife. This took less than 5 minutes, was an amateur effort, and cost nothing. He was in shock.

Similarly, a colleague (who should know better) was an investigator was under investigation himself.… Click here to continue reading this article

How to centralise a Paypal button with HTML

How to centralise a Paypal button?

For some reason, Paypal buttons when pasted into HTML on a web page always default to the left. You can insert as many <align=”center”> tags as you like and it wont make a blind bit of difference.

Centralising a Paypal button using HTML has always been a pain. Until recently, even after much Googling, the only way I had found to do this was to publish the button first, right click it and copy the URL, and use the link to link to a hosted image on my server and ditch the Paypal generated code.… Click here to continue reading this article

Paypal Access Card Problems: Transaction Declined – Money Taken

Are you having problems with your Paypal Access MasterCard?

I have started to refer to mine as the “no access” card. Rather often I am getting ‘transaction declined’ notices for no clear reason. Who needs a debit card that is unreliable?

If you have a Paypal Access Mastercard (PrePay Solutions), do PLEASE be aware that it wont always work and you must always have back up funds on you! Never rely on this card for subscriptions to anything, either.

A few days ago, my Paypal Master Card was declined (again) in Morrisons supermarket (which isn’t very cool because it makes you look like a skint member) but this time, they took they money from the Paypal account!… Click here to continue reading this article

Review: The New Chrysler 300C Has Arrived in the UK.

Just recently, a handful of the  new Chrysler 300C demonstrators have been doing the rounds at dealers across the UK for potential customers to inspect.

Numerous journalists and previous Chrysler customers were invited to their local dealer to take a look. Somehow we got an invite, and being car enthusiasts, we went to take a look and pen a mini review.

The old 300C’s were famed for their sheer presence on the road. You were unlikely to be missed driving one. The new one has been toned down ever so slightly.… Click here to continue reading this article

Peter Hitchens: If Not Putin, Who?

Peter Hitchens is UK Daily Mail columnist. I tend to find him a bit ‘holier than thou’ and he usually writes in such a finger wagging style, and from such a moral high ground that you would think he never ran a red light or parked on a yellow line even.

However, he has spent a lot of time in Russia, and in todays Mail on Sunday, he wrote what I thought was a very interesting article. Here is an excerpt with a link to read the rest:

Dyson ‘Special Offer’ Service Telephone Calls are a Scam.

Why do we say to you that cold-calling telephone sales people who want to service your Dyson are a scam?

Well, first of all – they are NOT from Dyson!

When you have the “fly-by-night” cowboys in your home to do a twenty minute Dyson DC07 service, they will not do a proper job.

“Why not?” you may ask. Well, the reason is, that with a Dyson DC07, a professional service involves stripping the cyclone down and cleaning it – preferably with a power washer or a steam cleaner – to restore optimal performance.… Click here to continue reading this article

Indian: 100 Everyday Recipes (Love Food) 9781445430423 – Book review

So you want to learn to cook Indian food?

There is a little hardback book called ‘Indian: 100 Everyday Recipes’. It has no apparent author other than ‘Love Food’ (which on the inside cover is claimed to be an ‘imprint’ of the publisher) and is published by Parragon Books. Its ISBN number is 9781445430423.

Its a small book, a mere 15cm x 12cm and 208 pages of Chinese printed garbage enclosed in a hardback with a dust jacket for some reason.

It looks like this:

Indian - 100 everyday recipes. Love Food. Book.

patrick1178@btconnect.com – notice@security.org – Another Attempted Paypal Fraud

Phishing fraudsters pretending to be from Paypal email me most days. Sometimes, they even have my real name (eBay transactions with the Muslim community is usually to blame for the name getting out there). However, you likely landed here after Googling “notice@security.org” or “patrick1178@btconnect.com”

Paypal do not send out emails from a “security.org” address – certainly not a fake one. The domain security.org is a site about lock-picking Medeco locks (whatever they are). Nothing to do with Paypal anyway.

This email comes addressed to “Dear Paypal Customer” – which is wrong.… Click here to continue reading this article
