We have had cause to go to the Russian Consulate in London several times lately, the last of which being today. I thought I might share a few snippets of info about the joint.

Another eBay miscreant to add the the Google pool here. The policy of eBay to not allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers is ill conceived and gives buyers licence to take the piss as you will see.

Today’s internet lunatic for exposure on the Real Deal is Ian Kowalski, 165 The Briars, Aldridge, Walsall,  West Midlands.  WS9 8AQ. His eBay handle is “ian_ski” – he sells head map pins on eBay. Well I guess somebody must.

Radio, TV Interview Report – RTIR

I was searching for radio station interview info in the US. The RTIR is some kind if small magazine that purportedly goes out to 4000+ radio producers. It is not cheap, starting at $877 for a single issue (The same is available on some kind of recurring deal @ $447 – I dont like monthly billing deals.)

Hyde Tameside Sorting Office Post Office

So what’s happening with the delivery of small packets and parcels at the Post Office in the Hyde, Greater Manchester (Tameside) area recently?

We know they like to go on strike quite often. And every strike is reason enough for delays and backlogs. Recently, they have had a new reason for backlog and delay: SNOW.

The Post Office is so useless the last few months that even eBay are recommending using alternative carriers. All manner of outfits will now deliver small parcels around and about the place for between £3 and £10 depending on size and weight.… Click here to continue reading this article

This evening we were in Hyde in Cheshire. We wanted Indian food. I googled for it (as you do) and found a site called CurriesOnline.co.uk – From there I found Jaipur. On the site are various reviews.

Screamed somebody called Steve. Steve doesn’t even know how to use capital letters, so can we trust him to know a decent curry when he eats one?

If they were king prawns, I`ll eat my hat

King prawn korma– contained no king prawns, had only cut up pieces of prawn, probably no more than 4 prawns total — very disappointed.

If you have Googled “Ashton Service Centre” in relation to a hopeless, delayed or missing DHL delivery and landed here, you can be comforted that you are not alone.

I am a regular DHL user through the excellent services of parcel2go.com (through whom you can send parcels with DHL at a fraction of DHL “official” prices). However, this parcel was incoming to me, and not arranged by me. It was a parcel from a store in Aberdeen in Scotland to be delivered to Manchester.

DHL were allegedly two days late in collecting it from Aberdeen, but lets put that down to the bad snow up there and the Christmas rush, added to possibly inaccurate shipping information from the store.… Click here to continue reading this article

Another eBay miscreant to place on the public record here. This guy bids on stuff on eBay and then doesn’t pay.  He doesn’t respond to e-mails nor does he make any contact at all. This inconveniences sellers because they become liable for final value fees on the goods they have supposedly sold to this joker.

In order to get those fees refunded, they must go through a whole rigmarole with eBay and wait two weeks.

eBay prevents sellers from leaving negative feedback for buyers – this means normal people remain blissfully unaware of such people.… Click here to continue reading this article

Looking for a four prong (pole/terminal) Dyson on/off switch?

Dyson do not sell them any more.

In fact almost nobody sells them any more. They were from early models of Dyson vacuum cleaners and were superseded by the two prong switch.

If you fit a two prong switch to a machine wired for four prong, you have to alter the wiring somewhat.

Why have that hassle? Why not just buy an original Dyson 4 pole switch from Manchester’s leading Dyson parts specialists?

There have been reports in the German wine press that a substance called Natamycin has been found in some Argentinian wines. Following these reports, some wine suppliers in the UK extended their normal quality control to test for Natamycin at very low levels of concentration, and have identified some wines that contain traces of it.

Based on the information so far, “THERE IS NO RISK TO HEALTH” claim online wine supplier Naked Wines.

Many bankrupt or formerly bankrupt people, especially from the UK often look to Gibraltar and the Channel Islands for hassle free banking off the radar. (Not in Guernsey Banks any more obviously)

The Mandarin is located on Tartu mnt 42 in Tallinn, Estonia. On the drive from Stockmann towards the airport, it can be found halfway up the hill on the right hand side.
